The development opportunities of people are central to our work, from child to artist or academic. We invest in the creative talents of people, where the talents of the few, for whatever reason, don't get a chance. With attention, space, time and respect for our environment, we make the world a little better together.
The story of Utopa starts with the ideals of one entrepreneur: Loek Dijkman, former owner of the Topa Group. As an entrepreneur, he is convinced that a company fulfils a role in society that goes beyond providing work and making a profit. What is profit for society? Loek Dijkman believes that the company should not distribute the profit to the shareholders, but to society. In 1988, this vision was made concrete with the establishment of Utopa. The foundation is the sole shareholder of the Topa Group. In this way, the excess profit is distributed to society; the environment to which the Topa Group owes its existence. Topa's profits are used to make the world more social.
Within the focus areas described below, Utopa continuously chooses segments that require extra attention and support. Where possible, the foundation supports educational activities related to the selected attention areas.
